Arinn Dembo has been a professional writer since 1991. Her articles, criticism and reviews of all popular media have appeared in a variety of print and web publications, and her short fiction and poetry have appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, H.P. Lovecraft's Magazine of Horror, and several anthologies.
Since 1996 she has worked as a developer in the computer gaming industry, and her background fiction has enriched a number of popular games for the PC, including Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm, Ground Control, and Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. In 2005 she became the Lead Writer of Kerberos Productions, an independent game development studio in Vancouver, British Columbia. In that capacity she has continued to write fiction and create new worlds for games, including the apocalyptic milieu of the horror role-playing game Fort Zombie and the epic science fiction backdrop of the Sword of the Stars franchise.
She holds degrees in both Anthropology and Classical Archaeology, and lives in Vancouver with her family and a menagerie of pets.
The Deacon's Tale, a military science fiction novel set in her Sword of the Stars universe, was published by Kthonia Press in October 2011. A collection of short fiction and poetry, Monsoon and Other Stories, will be released by Kthonia in May of 2012. Seeing Red, a collection of criticism and short fiction, is slated for July 2012.
She is also the Series Editor of the Kthonia Illustrated Classics collection, which will release its first volumes in October of 2012.
