I suppose that of the 4 Goons, including Michael Bentine,it was Harry Secombe who really became one of the nations favourites with if anything increased popularity as his career continued. He was not an iconic comedian as say Spike Milligan nor a superb comedy actor as was Peter sellers but he was a multi talented performer in ways that they were not. After all he had a fabulous voice which the others did not.So unlike the other goons he did not really have an edge to his character as they did.Or if he did he obviously isnt going to reveal it in an autobiog. So basically he tells his story which is fairly predictable stuff but he is very hunorous and it is an enjoyable read.
