Product Description

Product Description

All ritual is a focus. It makes you aware of the point at which you stand - be that of a time of year, of day or night, of a moment of potential when the way forward becomes apparent or a possible future is revealed, of an instant when one cycle closing opens the next. It also makes you aware of the place where you stand, for none of the events celebrated by our rituals takes place in limbo. They happen in the real world, marking real and often intimate events of enormous consequence. And by marking these events, we allow them to mark us - binding us to the sky, to the land, and to the sea from which they all derive. Along with sample rituals for the eightfold year and eight major rites of passage, it contains chapters on the nature of ritual and its place in our spiritual and everyday lives. There are also prayers and other workings.

This book is even better than the last one they wrote together. These guys really know their Druidry inside out. If you are new to the Druid Way this book guides you through a whole year of rituals and a whole 'lifetime' of rites of passage ones to. I really loved the daily prayes and chants, so easy to do if you practice alone. Along with their other book The Path Through The Forest you would have the best books on Druidry ever. They actually explain in great detail, with walk throughs how things are done. No other book on Druidry does that. All the equipment is cheap as well. other books seem to think we are all made of money.

I have been a practising pagan for over 30 years, coming up initially through high magic, into witchcraft, and finally into Druidry. Along with 'The Path Through The Forest'(by the same authors), These are the most user-friendly, unpretentious, and heartfelt guidance-oriented books I have ever encountered, and I have encountered many. There is no 'my-way-or-the-highway' attitude. Indeed, the authors actively encourage the readers to search within and without for, and examine, alternative systems. They don't claim to have all the answers, but the advice and rituals herein do seem to work, and they can be readily adapted to your own philosophical belief system. I find myself referring to them often, and, even when at variance with other writers, I find that I trust them.

Brilliant. The rituals are great and go beyond the usual sort of stuff. There are rites of passage. Blessings. And the essays and introductory notes are just at the right level. They are thought provoking, but always useful, and always guide you to the practical work. These authors really know their stuff and I'm glad they are sharing it with the rest of us.
