Product Description

CD Description

Jens Lekman returns with his first new music in almost four years, with the mini-album `An Argument With Myself'.
Witty, literal, and location-specific, the songs are all heading somewhere as a means to either go crazy or keep from doing so.
From the title track's inner battle about moving to Melbourne, or the manic roadmap of directions to any place but here (and any time but now) of `New Directions'.
Jens has a devoted hardcore following desperate for new Jens music and he'll be returning for shows in the UK in October shortly after this release, including an already soldout show at London's Heaven.
This is a collection of five of the most impeccably crafted songs you will hear in 2011.

A Warm Rosy Glow 18 Oct 2011
By The Wolf TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
Jens Lekman is a singer/songwriter from Sweden and this little gem of a release
has made me want to hear more of him but let's try and make do with this for now.

There are only five songs in the set but each one of them is a beautifully
crafted composition. Lyrically erudite; charmingly melodic; perfectly-formed.
Mr Lekman has a voice which is very easy to listen to; a light tenor possessed
of the kind of diction rarely heard within the boundaries of our own shores.
You could take him home to meet your mum and she would doubtless love him!

Some might find him a bit of a lightweight but I challenge you not to be
pleasantly carried away by the delightful trumpet and sax interventions which
punctuate Mr Lekman's cheery staccato vocals on the bright and breezy number
'New Directions'. The jolly rhythms and crisp guitar playing on opening track
'An Argument With Myself' (crikey he don't 'arf pack the words in tight!) bursts
into the air like a golden ray of sunshine and the more gentle and reflective
'Waiting For Kirsten' will give you a nice warm feeling deep down in your tummy.

OK I'll admit it's not exactly rocket-science but it made me smile!

Highly Recommended.

Interesting 16 Nov 2011
Format:Audio CD
17 minutes of Morrissey meets Vampire Weekend meets mid-to-late Orange Juice. All in a nice gatefold cardboard sleeve. Makes you prick up your ears.

Great new Jens Lekman EP 1 Oct 2011
By N. Solish - Published on Amazon.com
I am a huge fan of Jens' and I didn't even know this had come out until I went to his show the other day. He sings songs about arguing with himself while walking around in Australia, stalking Kirsten Dunst and other unusual topics. His bouncy, pop melodies are extremely catchy and his guitar playing is awesome. He also writes thoughtful, smart lyrics that keep you coming back. His songs are catchy, soulful and feel honest. Did I mention that he has a great voice? He does. This is a great EP. A lot of fun with a good sound.

Those yearning melodies 5 Oct 2011
By Markus Rauchenwald - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
He's absent-mindedly walking the streets, observing backpackers, going back and forth over the same old things. That's in Melbourne, his home for the last two years. "Waiting for Kirsten" plays in his native Gothenburg. Again at night, again because of a girl, again no luck. So while he's waiting he muses about what the country has turned into - where a decent guy like his friend Emanuel can't get proper healthcare anymore. He promises to take him back to Santiago, Chile, where he may breathe the fresh air of the Andes, and taste the full-bodied red wine. If only he gets better. There's much yearning in his voice.
