What a love story! With the storm of mis-understandings. The fury of betrayals. The undercurrents of deceit. The fragility of love, the power of love.
My hands down, life worthy moment in any romance when Alejandro loves Tamsin thru her horrific scarring. This story has the power to change the way we hide our scars, view other peoples scars. It teaches us to embrace, love and revere scars - to wear them like a badge of honour. Because it shows how strong we have become. The lead up to when Alejandro takes Tamsin through her fear of horses is mesmerising.
The love scenes are tender, without the bullying malice or the over-the-top sex-sationalising common to many romance novels. India Greys writes the loveliest tribute to the beauty of pregnancy -' the air of voluptuous, milky contentment that cocooned Serena (Tamsin's sister) in her final weeks of her pregnancy'. Gorgeous!
The 2 star reviewer, Melissa, nails the attraction of romance novels when she notes the couple can barely tolerate each other. The all-out, teeth gritting, feisty confrontations between Alejandro and Tamsin are worthy of word fencing duets. Melissa also details Tamsin breathy approach to her business as well as not performing very well under pressure. I thought the scene where Tamsin hopelessly packs her 'one bag only'! was hilarious and Melissa's review takes it to another level. Made me enjoy the very lovely, not always on the ball heroine even more The part where Tasmin is searched at customs is priceless. Even though she is mortified, and fuels Alejandro with further reason to scorn her, I LOL at her on-going haplessness What a crack-up. Melissa's ability to over-view the story (I'm in awe of this skill) allows the reader to get the most out of this romance. I'm so looking forwards to re-reading this, over a superb Argentina red or English Earl Gray and greedily re-absorb every beautifully written phrase.
Oh yes. Every reader who reads this delicious love story, won't be able to stop themselves counting to 15. Look for this moment! Highly recommended reading
