Having been a fan of Sweet since the early days and owning most of their vast back catalogue,i have to say that I didn't quite know what to expect from this line-up featuring original bass player and tart extraordinaire Steve Priest(who could forget his outrageous pouting at the camera on many a Top of the Pops?).
The original band were never given the respect that their amazing musicianship deserved and in Brian Connolly, they had a charismatic frontman who stood out from the stereotypical lead singers of that era.
I was pleasantly surprised by this album and especially pleased to hear album tracks such as Windy City,Set Me Free,Sweet F.A and AC/DC along with the regular hits. The band give a good account of themselves and do a good job of replicating(though not surpassing) the playing of the original members and special mention should be given to the vocal harmonies which were a trademark of the classic line-up.
Definitely worth buying.
