The old Elton John single was pulled out of the wardrobe earlier in the year and played in trendy city clubs. It was a hit! Ever since then it has got bigger and bigger culminating in a re-launch. The song is catchy with a simple chorus, perfect for belting out in the car at the roundabout, and makes you remeber singing in the mirror with a hairbrush! The song is a complete change to today's music, it is a classic song that has not been altered, but still has an element of freshness. As hard as you try not to, it gets your feet tappin',your hips jivin' and trust me; you just can't stop!Overall it's a brilliant record and Elton is going to benefit greatly from the royalties!

What a stunning track.
Always loved this since it first appeared in the late 70's as part of an unfinished Philly session.
Apparently Elton and his then manager John Reid went Stateside to record some phat and phunky grooves but only laid down half a dozen tracks before ditching the project.
The track did get a UK single release in May 1979, reaching a nose bleed inducing (not!) number 42!
It's always been available on CD on the Thom Bell sessions, so if you can't wait, buy that!

This is gonna be huge!

I can't believe this has track laid around for so long not doing anything. It's gorgeous. Great singing, wonderful backing, nice "live in studio" video on CD-rom... what can one say. So nice to have a decent number one, in an era when quality chart music is almost non-existent.

This song is the bomb and the CD single comes with a campy CD Rom video from 1979. Most excellent, the only thing that would make this CD better would be for it also to include the even campier video with 1970's style graphics that's running on UK television at the moment.

I orginally listened to this song over the radio a couple of months ago. From my first listen I was hooked. Nothing in the charts is like this at the moment, orginally realeased in the 70's its highest position was 42, its looks very likely it will be Elton's first solo number one for seven years. If you like a good tune and chorus you will be blown away, such a catchy number you can actually sing to, now ,how many songs in the charts can you say that about?

There's only one song to come out to this year and it's this incredible barnstormer by Elton John. It's utterly magnificent and sounds all of it's 24 years old, which makes it all the better. I haven't heard the original so I'm not sure what tinkering Norman Cook has done, but track doesn't have too many of the Fatboy hallmarks so I'm imagining it sticks fairly closely to the original blueprint.
A certain contender for single of the year come December.
