He reminds me of a old BBC television series called Blackadder in this there's a dogs body called Baldrick that comes up with the saying "I've got a cunning plan" in this case it's I've got a cunning plan to make you rich. The first part is to phone people to get and buy reading a script hook them into becoming another one of a growing list of investors that invest their money in this venture.
Just a few problems I've thought of: guess I just phone people at random from a phone book. After I read the script to them and supposing they're still there on the phone there probably say "who the hell are you and where did you get my number?" Even if there was some one still listening after the pitch I'd be lying if I told them I had experience and had done this before. How do I tell the first investor that I've got other backers? This book encourages lying and deceit. This coming from a man that continuously tells you throughout his book to invest in the church and to go to church.
That just one of the many stumbling blocks along the way if you follow his suggestions.

ARE YOU DUMB ENOUGH TO BE RICH is a candid "HOW TO" book on becoming rich by investing in real estate. Mr. Barnett (while using amusing antecdotes) explores and explains how to avoid the common pitfalls the that can destroy the novice real estate investor. Fortunatly he does not stop there, Mr. Barnett details the process and procedures (including scripts, formulas and templates) for obtaining quick loans for the purchase of real estate, how to find and aquire properties from motivated sellers and, once purchased, how to sell these properties quickly and for a predetermined profit. Are You SMART Enough To USE This Book! 19 Jun 2003
By John Williams - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Are You Dumb Enough To Be Rich is a clear, concise, funny, easy to follow road map to get a beginning real estate investor up and running.
Mr. Barnett takes the fear and uncertainty of the business away by giving the reader a great "pitfalls" and "summary" section at the end of each chapter. Without overwhelming the reader, Are You Dumb Enough To Be Rich gives you true "soup to nuts" techniques on how to get into real estate investing without trying to sell you another seminar or a sequel to the book. If after reading some of the other "How To" books you are still looking for a resource to get you going, read this book, It will put money in your pocket!

Good real estate book 31 Jan 2004
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I believe that this book is a great companion to Robert Allen's Nothing Down. The fact that Allen wrote the forward should tell you how Allen feels about this book.

Are You Dumb Enough To Be Rich is updated for the times and offers fresh material. I like the fact that the author offers information on tax liens and discounted mortgages as well.

Are You Dumb Enough To Be Rich is a great book. You would be dumb not to buy it and use it. Great book. Highly recommended.
