I have read and enjoyed all the Anita K Hamilton books of Vampire Hunter Series, this however was a disappointment on thinking it was a new title. I did not enjoy reading other writers reviews on Anita's books and feel I have been cheated of the next installment in the series. There was no write up of the book and was mislead by the title and therefore to me a waste of money. If however you like to review her books then by all means buy it.

I bought this item as i believed it was the next vampire hunter book in the series. As it implies by stating ' Aniter Blake vampire hunter series'.
It does however, neglect to tell you that it is a book full of authers you have never heard of, just everyday people writing a review on the book. Descussing character plots and valuating characters. It's great if you dont understand the story line, if you think laurell k hamilton didnt set a story that you could follow and strong characters that you can relate to.
I, however, feel that laurell k hamiltons books are well written, with plots that you fall into and are dragged along with. With characters that you grow to love and understand.
So, no. I dont want to read a book that a bunch of strangers have written on why the characters do or act in certain ways!
I already know the characters and what drives them. I'v been reading the series havent you?
Stop wasting our time writing about other peoples books or disecting the characters. Enjoy reading them or write something interesting.
I am very disapointed, I was hoping it was the next in the series not a discussion straight out of a book/reading club.
Dont buy this if you want to follow the story. Buy this only if you are doing a character study on her books and need to reference someone, anyone.

A scholarly review of the Anita Blake series of books, almost universally full of compliments. Yes we know Anita is a groundbreaking kick-ass heroine and we don't need to be told the fact. This supposed critique takes very little account of the change of direction in the more recent books. What happened to our heroine's work raising zombies? Or hunting rogue vampires? Why did the once thrilling plots vanish ? By far the most interesting parts of Ardeur were written by Laurell K Hamilton herself writing candidly about her life, experiences and outlook. It was clear from this that the increasingly erotic and orgiastic influences which now dominate the stories are a free spirited feature of which the author is extremely proud
