I bought this to record from my Sky Plus box. It arrived very quickly, as usual with Amazon's traders. I unpacked it and studied the manual. I connected it, but I struggled to get it to work. After a lot of messing about, I managed to get the output from the Archos 5 on my TV screen, but I couldn't get the Sky Plus box working. Even though the Archos is Wi-Fi capable, you have to download the HD Video plug-in to your PC, connect the Archos to your PC and install the file from there! Admittedly, it's far easier to type details on your PC keyboard than on the miniscule keys on the DVR Station's remote, but why can't you do it directly on the Archos via Wi-Fi? After a day or two trying, I managed to get things working after a fashion, but when I unplugged the Archos to use it elsewhere I couldn't get any signal from my Sky Plus box to the TV. I emailed Archos, but I haven't received a reply five days later! I emailed the supplier to enquire about returns, outlining the problem, and they gave me a direct number for Archos Support. I phoned them and they said that was the way it was supposed to work. Now, I might be being picky, but I don't want to have to man-handle my TV to change SCART cables over every time I plug or unplug my Archos! I expected to be able to connect the DVR Station once and then leave it, plugging and unplugging my Archos at will. Nowhere in the product description or any other review does it say that this is not so. Am I being unreasonable? I don't think so! To me, technology is about making things simpler, but having to change leads over every time I want to do something different is just making things more complicated. I would not recommend this product to anybody and Archos's Customer Support is sadly lacking. I am now awaiting a reply from the supplier to return this product for a refund.
