I have had this battery for some time and find it excellent. It effectively doubles the play time of your AV500 both 60GB and 100GB models.
To swap batteries is so simple, there is a slid switch on the side of your AV500 simply release this lock and pull off the back which is the battery.
Placing on the new one is just a simple.
So with both batteries you have over 10 Hours of movie time.
I have had mine for years and still holds a charge for ever and run just as long as it did when new.
It also comes with a convenient slip case to protect you battery. Although very sturdy in build.
I use this battery on my AV560 (the 60GB av500 model) and it works fine.
