5.0 out of 5 stars Let the good times roll... 26 May 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Mr Childish has released a lot of music over the years, the first album i heard was the excellent 'In Blood' with Holly Golightly but this compilation sereves as a brilliant introduction to one of musics great outsiders. Tracks from across his career with various bands merge effortlessly to make one of the most enjoyable compilations you could hope to hear. From Thee Headcoats uncompromising punk rock to the Milkshakes classic garage rock there really is a lot of stuff to enjoy here. From the tender ''An Image of You' to the brutal but catchy 'The day i beat my father up' its a quality ride of rock 'n' roll thrills. The sing-along folk lament of 'I don't like the man i am' is a current favourite but it's all great stuff. An essential album of pure rock 'n' roll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy...in old money 23 Aug 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This man deserves your postal order. It's very very good. And that is only the pictures. I didn't realise how good until I played it. Now I can't stop. Being one for the odder, obscurer avenues of music megacity (Jay Reatard, The Animals, Van der Graaf Generator, Sun-era-pre-drum Elvish, Alternative TV, 13th Floor Elevators, Pretty Things might be living next door) it is right up my cul-de-sac and I am more than a little embarassed not to have visited the Medway sound before now.

5.0 out of 5 stars The King of English Rock and Roll 7 July 2009
Format:Audio CD
If you have never heard of B. Childish ESq. or his many bands over the last 30 years this CD will be a complete introduction to a musical (as well as artistic)
Genius whose contribution to British music cannot be overstated - Or if you prefer ; some of the best low-down dirty Rock and Roll ever recorded . Close the doors , turn it up , dance and sing.
You wont regret it .

5.0 out of 5 stars Billy Childish Versus Lionel Jeffries 11 Aug 2009
Format:Audio CD
Lionel Jeffries played Grandpa Potts in the film version of Ian Flemings 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' in which he sung the song 'Posh'

Perhaps Billy Childish will get dressed up in his (someone elses's) First World War uniform complete with his (someone else's) medals and do a cover of it.

All Together Now !

O the posh posh traveling life, the traveling life for me
First cabin and captain's table regal company
Pardon the dust of the upper crust - fetch us a cup of tea
Port out, starboard home, posh with a capital P-O-S-H, posh.

I dont suppose Billy will though he needs a pension and you can help him by buying this CD 'Archive Of 1959 - The Billy Chidish Story'
