Product Description

Review

"The Architect's Legal Handbook serves to make us aware of those areas in which the law overlaps with architectural practice and all the more easily avoid those pitfalls that trap the unwary. As a combination legal primer and security blanket this is an essential purchase for both Part III candidates and architects alike."

Peter Robinson Arias, Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland journal (RIAS)

If you are looking at this you are more than likey about to embark on your Part 3 course. If so, it is in my opinion absolutely essential to own a copy of the Legal Handbook.

It covers everything you are likely to need relating to architectural law, and whilst some chapters feel in my opinion overly in depth, the sections on statutory framework and contract types, particularly the JCT suite, are excellent and accessible.

If you are likely to use this for an open book exam, you will need to heavily 'tab' the relevant sections for ease of reference as the contents and index are not quite comprehensive enough. In addition if you will require information on other contract forms such as NEC, you will likely need additional sources of information, though this book does give a good overview.

The last section on practice management is useful, but it is worth supplementing with other books such as 'The Architect in Practice'.

It will no doubt remain on my bookshelf throughout my career as a vital reference tool.

Unsatisfactory 12 April 2010
Format:Paperback
I have recently bought a book from your company which have two pages torn out!
It also happened twice that I had ordered one book on both occasions but your company sent me three books and charged me for the prices of three books.
I am thinking not to order any book from your company again
