First Sentence
In late 1960, in various flats in Hampstead, a loose group of people started to meet: to criticize projects, to concoct letters to the press, to combine to make competition projects, and generally prop one another up against the boredom of working in London architectural offices. Read the first page

This book contains a well organized view on the works of Archigram, both written and drawn. Despite being all black and white, it's still very rich in visual terms, as would be expected of a book dedicated to Archigram.
As an architecture student I would recommend it to architecture-related people because it's a very good way of getting to know the works of this group, and also to anyone interested in the subject, since their works were very "audience-directed" and don't require a lot of specific knowledge to understand.

Black and white more or less states the case.
A body of people who certainly influenced architecture, and, manner in which the subject can be contemplated. I found both text and drawings depressing indicating a world bereft of joy or optimism.
If ever there was an incidence of pseudo Architecture for Art’s Sake, then look no further. The theoretical option to promote ‘No Rules’ in itself creates rules which spawn disciples who multiply and go forth believing that they are contributing towards civilisation.

archigram 17 Jan. 2006

Content-wise the book is great, but all the images are black and white, which in terms of the work of archigram, is a disappointment. I will certainly end up buying a second book to fill in the blanks that this one leaves.

Dive back into the 60's 21 Mar. 2006
By Michele Chiuini - Published on Amazon.com

The merit of the book is to provide an affordable compilation of Archigram's images and original text, mostly published on Architectural Design almost forty years ago. While it is disappointing not to have color pictures, the graphics are still compelling and provocative (all done without Photoshop!). It is a very good basic reference book if you are interested in Archigram.
