A book, the potential of which has not really been realised., 30 Jan 2001

This review is from: Archery (Backyard Games) (Paperback)
This is an American publication and, as such, focusses entirely on the FITA aspects of competetive archery, rather than the GNAS, which governs the sport in Britain.
It covers the basics adequately enough, but suffers greatly from a paucity of illustrations, to the detriment of the novice. It also, to my mind, devotes too much space to FITA rules and regulations, which are available elsewhere in greater detail, and neglects entirely many of the technical aspects of archery, especially the fundamentals which every novice needs, like basic bow set-up and tuning.
If you come to this book as a complete, no-nothing novice, you will undoubtedly learn somethinhg from it, but it serves primarily as a springboard to more comprehensive books.
