Book Description

Enter New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh's darkly beautiful world of archangels and immortal power

Product Description

Rich, dark, sumptuous and evocative ... bestselling author Nalini Singh is back with a stunning new tale in her deadly, beautiful world where angels rule and vampires serve.

With wings of midnight and an affinity for shadows, Jason courts darkness. But now, with the Archangel Neha's consort lying murdered and her rage threatening cataclysmic devastation, Jason steps into the light, knowing he must unearth the murderer before it is too late.

Earning Neha's trust comes at a price - Jason must tie himself to her bloodline through the Princess Mahiya, a woman with secrets so dangerous, she trusts no one. Least of all an enemy spymaster.

With only their relentless hunt for a violent, intelligent killer to unite them, Jason and Mahiya embark on a quest that leads to a centuries-old nightmare . . . and to the dark storm of an unexpected passion that threatens to drench them both in blood.

More About the Author

Nalini Singh was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. She spent three years living and working in Japan, and travelling around Asia before returning to New Zealand now - although she's always plotting new trips.

She has worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher, not necessarily in that order. Some people might call that inconsistency, but she calls it grist for the writer's mill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional storybuilding-a very class act. 14 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I adore this author and have read everything she's written - I think she'd make a shopping list interesting - she's that good.

This is the continuing story of the paranormal fantasy world based around existing cities and lands as we know them. Where archangels, angels, vampires and mortals co-exist within a structured hirearchy, the Archangels at the very top.

In my opinion you must read all of the books in order as the characters do cross over and each story so far has been really, really good. You MUST read Raphael's story 'Angel's Blood'as this sets the scene for the series and he is one seriously hot alpha male (fans herself, phew).

This is Jason's story, he is an angel and one of Archangel Raphael's cadre of 10. There is trouble in the lands of another archangel Neha and as Raphael's spymaster, Jason is sent to investigate and help Neha find the murderer of her imprisoned consort. To affiliate Jason with Neha so as he can be trusted within her courts he must be blood-tied to the Priness Mahiya who trusts no-one as her secrets have blighted her existance since birth.

Jason and Mahiya have to learn to trust one another to work together efficiently to achieve their own agendas although this ignites a passion that threatens them both.

As usual, the story and character building is so brilliantly executed that Nalini makes her work into a craft. The tension gradually rises as does the romance between the two leads. The love scenes are hot and you really end up rooting for Jason and Mahiya.

This author astounds me with her work, this series is so good, I also adore her other series of psy/changelings on which we are on the 10th book and every single book is a really good, top notch read.

These are books that I feel so happy to buy, I know my money will be well-spent and I won't regret the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars not my favourite of the series but good read 17 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love the Guild Hunter series, and looked foward to Archangels Storm, I liked it but it wasn't my favourite of the series, it had a slower pace and the romance was a lot softer in this, I prefered Raphael and Dimitri's passion, Jason is very closed off due to his childhood and Neha is soft and sweet, so the two although make a sweet couple there is not much passion and fire, there is plenty of action in this book and the story is a good length so its a good read but for me I missed the hot sexy side to these books that this lacks a little, but I must say apart from it being great to see snipits of Raphael and Elana and a few short chapters of Dimitri and Honor the last chapter was pretty great and thats why I only dropped a star for this as I think it was a good read just missing a bit of romance for me but the last chapter that will bring a lump your throat for sure.

Jason is Raphael's spymaster, and has always lived life in the shadows he suffered a horrible loss as a child and closed off a big part of himself. Jason stays in the shadows and goes undercover to get the best information for Raphael the only person he trusts. While attending Dimitri's wedding he is told by one of his spies that the Archangel's Neha consort has been killed and her rage is shaking the world. Neha was already unstable and angry with Raphael after he killed her daughter in a previous book, Raphael and Jason are worried if she continues with the madness, millions of people will suffer. Jason offers Neha to find the killer and she agrees he can enter her lands, only if he binds himself to another of her bloodline, Princess Mahiya.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and refreshing 4 Feb 2013
It looks to me that with Nalini each book is a hit or miss. Archangels' Storm was lovely. Both Jason and Mahiya are gorgeous characters, and reading about their love story, their interactions is pure pleasure.

Neha is interesting and complex archangel, however the intrigue itself is easy to guess from the very beginning, so if you want to have some sort of mystery in this book, ti's not going to happen.

There are also updates on Raphael and Elena, and we find out what Dmitri and his new wife are up to. There is a tiny insight into Raphael's mother and Lijuan, a bit of Venom and Ilium. I have to admit I enjoy Lijuan - she is a villain in almost every book, and she is someone I can't quite understand yet, purely because she operates on her own strange logic.

Overall, there is plenty of beauty in Archangel's Storm: lush Indian landscapes, architecture and even wonderful clothes that Mahiya is wearing, but above all, Jason and Mahiya's relationship is mesmerising and poetic. It's definitely refreshing to read something like that once in a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nalini Singh - a class of her own 20 Jan 2014
By Lana
Format:Kindle Edition
I would recommend every single of Nalini Singh books, she is an amazing writer who has such a way with words that I have only encountered with JR Ward's early Black Dagger Brotherhood novels. Go to the very beginning of the Archangel series, and pick up Psy-Changelling series, you won't be sorry!
