This book was recommended for my course and now I can see why..its a useful little book, with short entries in everything you can imagine about archaeology : feminism, ecological, indigenous, 3 age system, experimental, evolution, religion, different revolutions in archaeology, origins, dating, survey..etc
what can I say it has wide topics that are being discussed in mini-essays of a page or 2 ,written by leaders in each domain making it easy to grasp the notions, ..and also provides further reading for each..just what you need as an archaeology student or even to develop an insight into this subject..

For students of Archaeology in particular, this Renfrew & Bahn guide to the Key Concepts of Archaeology offers a more technical approach to the popular course textbook 'Theories, Methods and Practice'. Each concept is explained under heading to give you just enough information so as to not bombard you, with a further list of suggested reading. Headings include Feminist Archaeology, Cognitive Archaeology, Agency and even some as unusual as Archeoastronomy, which give an edge to your understanding of Archaeology and even to your essays. Luckily I found this book in a quaint little bookshop in Chester, but even for Amazon's price I'd still fully reccommend it for purchase.

Modern archaeology is fill of terms that can seem mysterious to technician and laymen alike. Archaeology: the Key Concepts gives concise explanations to many things that a modern archaeologist is expected to know. Most of these concepts are buried in books or in journal articles. Archaeology: the Key Concepts provides a quick, easy reference so that can be the beginning of deeper research.
