Hanin Y Son Cubano is a musical group formed in 1999 which merged Cuban music and Arabic music. This project is a visionary artist and producer vanguard Lebanese - Greek Michel Elefteriades (Director Elef Records label), who one day, sitting in a café cantante of Havana, surrounded by Afro-Cuban sounds, found himself humming a classical Arabic music, "Ya Habibi Ta'ala" the Arab diva Asmahan. The idea then came to him instantly merge Cuban and Arab musical genres.
Michel Elefetriades took two years to complete this project. He selected seven of the best Cuban musicians, choosing them for the legendary singer Marcelino Linares, who died in 2000, two days before the first concert to launch the concept. He then auditioned hundreds of singers before selecting Hanin Abu Chakra, young singer Lebanese of classical Arab who finished his last year at the conservatory. The project experienced a runaway success. Arab-Cuban music was born.

It's an album of pieces of Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez, Farid el Atrash, Fairouz and Asmahan rearranged salsa, his, bolero, cha cha cha... Arabo Cuban was number one in Lebanon for a year and met with similar success the Middle East and other Mediterranean countries.
