The other reviews were right. These strings make a 'budget' Mahalo ukulele sound a million times better. I tried to get them from the local music shop, but the chap there said they couldn't get them in stock, except on new ukes. They arrived very quickly and with a little pre-tensioning, hold their tuning well after a day or so.

I ordered these strings to replace the knicker elastic my ukulele had originally been strung with in the factory. I had read review after review for Aquila strings, and virtually every review said they were simply the best. Well I am pleased to add my voice to that chorus. Aquila strings are simply amazing. They improved the sound of my ukulele to a degree I would not have previously thought possible. Both the sound and the volume were improved. My instrument now stays in tune far better also. I simply can not sing the praises of these strings highly enough.
If you have a uke and you want to make it sound better get these. Of course you could just stick with the knicker elastic, but why would you want to?

Had bought a cheap uke, just to test the waters, and was happy enough, but by changing the strings the difference in sound was immense. Well worth the small investment.

excellent strings
by changing from factory fitted strings to these the difference is staggering... try em on a cheap uke and watch it come alive.
