1.0 out of 5 stars Great idea but not reliable 3 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase
I was delighted to purchase this filter for our trip around South America, where clean water may be a problem. However it requires a fairly hard squeeze to eject the purified water and it seems the bottle itself is not up to the job. Water was also expelled from the join between the cap and the bottle, this means that the water collected is a mixture of purified and untreated. Result NOT SAFE!!! I feel the plastic bottle is of poor design and needs to be more rigid at the neck to prevent this leakage. I have no doubt that with such an upgrade the filter itself will work and the product worthy of consideration. Until then.......at your own risk!!

3.0 out of 5 stars does the job but could be better! 2 Nov 2009
I bought this bottle to take to the Himalayas. It was one of the most useful things I took with me but I've only given it 3 stars because it needs 2 impovements: firstly why is there no cap on the mouthpiece? The whole point is to be able to drink clean water and when you've been carrying the bottle on a long hike it's difficult to keep the top clean! Secondly, the bottle leaks! I had this problem after the first few days of using it, it would leak unless I screwed the top on really tight and even then it didn't seem to fit too well.
I haven't tried any other bottles out there so I'm not sure if there's a better one but you would have thought the manufactuers would think of these simple improvements which could make all the difference.

1.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTE RUBBISH 27 Nov 2011
By sophie
I bought this aquapure traveller to take 'round India. It is rubbish. Like some other reviewers have mentioned, it leaks. This totally defeats the whole purpose of buying a water filter!
I have been refused a refund from this unprofessional company and strongly suggest that you don't make the mistake I did and buy this product.
Don't buy from Home Health.

2.0 out of 5 stars good for first 2 weeks 3 Nov 2010
By hargoot
I bought 2 of these to take to Nepal, India and SEA. It worked really well for the first couple of weeks and then started leaking from the side, allowing un-filtered water to go through...(and wet my t-shirts in the process).. i'm a little annoyed considering the price i paid for this and the impossibility to get a replacement whilst I'm overseas, i thought i could avoid buying plastic bottles but it looks like this is my only option now. :(

only tested it at home but works perfect

I put water from my fish tank in a glass and water from the fish tank filtered through aquapure in a glass beside it and the results were plain to see. No impurities were visible and after building the courage to try it no aftertaste was noticed.

I emailed the manufacturers who tell me nothing in this product has a 'use by date'. which is useful for me because i won't be going on holiday till next year.

definitely a good product and looks like an ideal thing to send to countries who have to drink unsafe water

4.0 out of 5 stars My most useful Purchase 27 April 2010
This was the most useful thing I took with me to Nepal. No worries about what I was drinking and although bottled water is available, this saves adding to the plastic waste out there. I agree with another reveiwer about a mouth piece cap being useful - but I never actually put it into my mouth, I just sweezed the water out and caught it. I filled it up each morning with tap water. No tummy toubles. The pouch was essential for ease of carrying and helped to keep the water cool too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for travellers 23 Mar 2009
By Ros B
the Aquapure is brilliant! really easy to use, light to carry and the water does taste fine. I used it in Egypt to filter the water from my room washbasin, and it took all the chlorine taste away. It saved on plastic bottles and money, and I didn't get any tummy trouble.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money. 28 Jun 2011
By Fay
This was not a good buy for me. 3 days into my four month trip the bottle stopped working properly, meaning that water came out at the top and the bottom joint. Luckily I had brought other methods of purification with me. 2 other friends also bought the aquapure traveller and also had similar problems, albeit 4 months later rather than 3 days, when their bottles also started to leak. You would be better off buying 30 of water purification tablets than this, another friend had a similar bottle from a different brand which worked far better (Travel tap).

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible. Pointless. Leaky
So this product has a filter but whenever you squeeze it to force the water out, the bottle contorts (obviously) but to such an extent water just leaks out all over your chest. Read more
