Fantastic for both photography and filmmaking, relatively small, lightweight and powerful. For something so cheap to be so useful is a rare find, this will transform your dark shoot (in a club or at night I've used it and it's been awesome). Even in dim location it can be used in so many ways, depends how creative you are.

I'd consider this a must-have for a entry-level filmmaker or photographer- I take it on nearly every shoot and it has never failed me.

Nice ring flash. I cannot give a technical review on this as I am in no way qualified. But it seems to work well, producing nice light and tones on close subjects, including both objects and faces.

Ok the battery pack is quite big and heavy when full with 4xAA batteries. It can also be fiddly trying to remount the ring flash back onto the battery pack. (For some reason, I seemed to think this would attach magnetically - I was wrong!) However these are relatively minor gripes.

I would guess it does not perform quite as well as a similar item costing 10 times as much. But I think for most non-professionals, this will meet their ringflash needs quite well.

Did I mention it costs under £25 ! It therefore represents a great deal.

This is a really nice flash ring.

I have been experimenting with my DSLR for some time and in common with many people have been disappointed with some of of my pictures when using Macro and the flash at the same time.

This unit has greatly improved my shots Macro shots.

The flash ring takes 4 AA batteries and then you are good to go.

The ring has 100 led's and has a adjustable knob on the main unit to adjust the brightness.

There is a button which allows you to use ring as a light source, a button to alter the light from left or right and a flash button which as it suggests make the led's on the ring flash.

What is great is that you can alter the lights output whilst using it as a light source and then change the mode to flash.

There are 4 large LED's which light up to designate what function is being used at the time.

Also in the box is plastic lens adapter rings suitable for 49 to 77mm SLR camera.

The adapters are marked 49,52,55,58,62,67,72 and 77.

They appear to be quite robust.

The hot shoe mount was a good fit on my camera and can confirm that the ring triggers with the camera with no issue.

I have yet to experiment fully with this great bit of kit but so far my shots using the ring have proved to really good.

You can mount the unit on a tripod as the ring can clip on to the controller unit.

It is a great light source and is ideal for video work which I will be testing over the next week or so.

Another notable feature is that the LED ring does not get hot.

Overall a very nice product at a good price.

Very quick delivery, good quality flash, also good price. Why pay more for light.
Use it as a flash, use it to light up (with no shadows) close objects, and just let your imagine run rife.

I have not seen the light output from the Canon offering so I can't comment how this stacks up but this works just fine for me.

An economical way to get a ring light when the intended use is likely infrequent, only tried a couple of test shots so far, but all works fine. Had none of the issues that others have seemingly found with the battery cover etc.

If you accept that it only cost £27 and the limitations of such a unit, then it is brilliant. Yes it has a limited range, but I use it for macro work so no problems. The screw in adaptor rings are plastic and I am not sure that they will hold up to repeated use. The 77mm ring was a little awkward to fit, but a good spray of silicon lubricant soon sorted that. If they could make these metal and charge a few quid more this would be great.

Good for macro work, but only has a useable range of 1m. I was hoping to use as a fill for a video but not bright enough for that. The internal diameter is less than 67mm so you can get some vignetting on larger lenses despite the adapters and also some flare as the light is visible through the side of the diffuser. I used black tape to reduce this. It EATS batteries when not in flash mode.
