I watched this film last night and to be fair, it is a game of two very distinct parts. The first chunk of the film is a fairly hectic comedy of errors with a bunch of neurotic characters arriving at a house to help celebrate the upcoming marriage of April, who's ex-girlfriend is hosting the party (although the majority of the guests are unaware that they were an item, or that April was gay). The characters are fun in an inoffensive way but they are one-dimensional caricatures rather than fleshed out real people. The stoned out brother has very little to say but is a lot of fun in his few scenes. Some of the acting is ropey at best but for the most part it is well played and the characters engaging if a little predictable as error upon error hits the shower as the hostess tries to keep it all together. So far, fun if not exactly realistic it was at least unrealistic in a jolly, comedic way.

Then the gear suddenly shifts a heap of inconsistencies of both character and situation pile on top of one another until by the end, all the good work that had preceded it has been completely undone and you find yourself completely bemused and at some points, offended by the storyline. A gay woman falls for a guy, a woman takes a man who has pretty much stalked her throughout the film and a woman who has made no mention of wanting kids or even being interested in men suddenly declares she is pregnant after trying it once to see what it was like. None of it was consistent with the characters up till that point and all of it designed to...actually I was so repulsed by it I didn't know why it had been done. None of the twists served the story (in point of fact it detracted from the enjoyment of it) and left a very bitter taste.

Now what could have occurred here was a nice rom-com kinda film, with some good comedy elements and great characters.

What we get is a cheesy rom-com, with some reasonable OK comedy elements and some....unique characters.
Now I'm not saying that's a bad thing! It's not, because in the end this is still a silly little film that you can watch without having to look too deep into it.

Basic premise, a lesbian's ex lover is getting married....to a man. She is throwing the wedding shower, while trying to keep her feelings under control.
That's it! Then you throw in some other characters with their own eccentricities and you have an OK film.

For me the real saving grace was Zack Ward playing the brother. He brought a sense of professionalism to the film and had some great moments.

If you don't want anything too serious, this may be the film for you.

This rom-com is fun and chaotic but with a few too many characters though it still keeps you entertained. It has a sweet romance between the two lead women who are ex lovers and best friends.

Alex is throwing a wedding shower for her ex April, during the party (that's full of crazy guests) Alex and April have to admit to themselves and everyone else that they still belong with eachother. But what about the Fiance? and what will everyone say when they finally comeout?,worth a viewing to find out.
