Confident, assured first album from the best thing out of Barrow since Peter Purves. A couple of low points aside the album as a whole is superb with beautiful melodies rendered by Rosie Hillman's delicate yet soulful voice; complimented by but never intruded upon by Matt Kassell's harmonising. Guitar work is intricate and neat throughout and a wide variety of instruments are used to good effect; I'm sure there's even a mellotron in there somewhere!
All in all a superbly crafted album that misses out on that 5th star because nothing is perfect.Ever. Besides, I recommended this album to Ginger (Wildhearts) who described their music as 'beautiful'. So what else do you need?
