4.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners, 21 Feb 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Applied Tai Chi Chuan (Martial Arts) (Paperback)
This book covers lots of different aspects of Tai Chi, but has therefore to settle for relatively little detail. This is an excellent book for those just starting, or whose teacher concentrates mainly on one aspect (i.e. mainly for health).

It should help you decide if there is a specific subject within Tai Chi that you want to find out more about. Little practical help, but plenty of basic info for those beginners looking to expand there knowledge.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very basic, 14 May 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Applied Tai Chi Chuan (Martial Arts) (Paperback)
Despite the title this deosn't really go into any great depth about the practical use of Tai Chi. Just the usual stuff which any decent teacher should be telling you and nothing you can really take away and work with. Maybe that reflects the style

5.0 out of 5 stars An informative book, covering all aspects of Tai Chi Chuan, 7 Aug 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Applied Tai Chi Chuan (Martial Arts) (Paperback)
Mr Sutton writes with both clarity and knowledge, providing a solid basis for anyone with an interest in the art. Covering all topics of relevance in the study of Tai Chi, Applied Tai Chi Chuan acts as both a good read and a valuable reference work. Although focusing on the style of Tai Chi, as refined by the late Cheng Man Ching its quality lies in its discussion of the principles of the art, thereby being suitable for students of all styles. By providing a comprehensive guide to the form, push hands, applications and weapons its interest is greatly enhanced, seperating it from many of the other works available.
