Product Description

Review

"This is an incredible resource for any dental practitioner - DCP and dentist alike..The book is over 500 pages in all, but it is very easy to use as a reference resource due to the fact that each chapter begins with an outline of its contents and therefore a quick scan of the first page of each chapter will direct the reader to specific information if that is what is required. On the other hand, a more leisurely read gives valuable background information to the aspects of pharmacology which we take for granted on a daily basis.Important points within the text are summarised through the use of tables and boxes which make it easier to understand. The book has a very informative appendix section including a list of the top 200 most prescribed drugs, and what they are used for.

This book is a must on every dental practitioner's shelf - it should not be restricted to the dental hygienist!"

Marina Harris. Vital, Volume 4. Winter 2007 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

Easy to read and easy to follow, this practical text provides an understanding of the basic principles of pharmacology. It covers the most common drugs that you will encounter in clinical practice - the drugs a patient may already be taking and the drugs prescribed by the dentist. A logical and consistent organization makes it easy to look up drug group indications, pharmacokinetics, pharmacologic effects, adverse reactions, drug interactions, and dosages. Ensure patient safety with this essential reference.

Full of information but hard to understand 22 Jun 2010
By rjt1985oct - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This textbook is jam packed full of information. However, it is a difficult book to read and understand from. My Pharmacology professor is a Dentist AND a Pharmacist and he said some of the questions asked in the chapters of this book were even beyond his scope of knowledge and far beyond the needs of a hygienist.
