So it isn't the most expensive, which is good, but there are a couple of things about it that bug me.
I wanted to use it as a bedside stand so it would charge my iPad2 while allowing me to see the screen for the alarm app I run on it.
First morning of use I slept in because when the iPad2 is docked the speakers think it's docked to an external audio output and therefore don't work. In order to get any sound from the iPad2 when it is docked in this station, you have to use a line-out which would have to be connected to some external speakers! Why?!
In that case I thought I'd use it as a stand by my desktop and use it while syncing the iPad2. Well ... it syncs ok but on the screen of the iPad2 it says "Not Charging"! Another little bugbear. I have to say, I think it does actually charge (will have to double check some time), but why say that on the screen?

As far as I can tell this is just as good as the Apple original, Great little dock. Highly recommended. The free Pen was a bit naff but what do you want for free?

It holds the iPad, connects to iTunes via the dock connector. The lineout port volume seems to work independently of the iPad's volume control or the app's in built volume control. I'm guessing this is standard. Seems alright though. The stylus will come in handy when I'm on the slopes with my iPhone.

this product is useless. when connected it only charges but does not send either audio or video. Everthing works well when I bypass the dock stand. Read more
