Lovely new iPod nano, 1 Dec 2009
This review is from: Apple iPod nano with Camera 16GB - Purple - 5th Generation (Electronics)
This is a really beautiful object. Apple ALWAYS win hands-down in the style stakes and the new iPod nano is no exception. The polished metal casings are more robust than the earlier plastic ones and the range of colours is superb. My daughter was delighted with it (it was a birthday present) and has been very pleased with all the new features. The video camera is fun (but why no still camera?) and the radio receiver is another well-received addition. She hasn't had it long, so I can't yet comment on its reliability but I never worry about purchasing such things from Amazon as the returns/refunds policy is excellent and I have never had any problem with anything I have bought in the past.

Much Improved., 13 Sep 2009
This review is from: Apple iPod nano with Camera 16GB - Purple - 5th Generation (Electronics)
Okay, so i thought there wasnt much more that apple could do to improve the nano; how i was wrong. The new nano has some major changes incorporated into the new model : fm tuner, pedometer and camera as well as the voiceover technology that has recently appeared on the new shuffles.
The new incorporated camera is great for shooting video. It does so recording onto VGA and the itunes will automatically keep 200mb of space free to shoot some video. The camera is placed on the bottom left opposite side to the front of the unit, and is a smallish lens. There are also 16 modes which can be used to create some effects instead of normal old video. However, the camera will not let you take still images!
The new fm radio transmitter is great for radio on the go, and with an added feature of allowing you to pause live radio! However, this will eat into storage capacity on the ipod, which can be annoying if you have little left to spare.
The new pedometer system on the ipod works with nike+ which will help collaborate the data which can be later viewed on your pc (or mac)to monitor your exercise. It allows you to set goals to help you try and achieve them.
All the ipod nano range has received a paint job, with brighter paint being used, which makes them look a lot better than the 4th generation.

nifty bit of kit, 31 Dec 2009
This review is from: Apple iPod nano with Camera 16GB - Purple - 5th Generation (Electronics)
This is my first ipod, bought for use in the car as i was fed up with my cds and of course terry wogan has gone!! Very easy to rip cds onto the ipod, very easy to create playlists either by using genius or creating your own for different situations eg driving to work, driving home from work, evening listening etc. you can get the artwork for the albums very easily which peps it up a bit and shuffle works well too. the transmitter I bought for the car only took a couple of minutes to set up, so no problem there. Have also bought a lead to plug into my home stereo system so can play the ipod from that, thereby enabling me to clear the clutter of cds. I have only touched the surface of what this can do...camera is superfluous to me, but it works well, there's also a pedometer, again at the moment superfluous but no doubt of use to some and there's more. I didn't think i owned many cds but am glad I bought a 16GB as I have already filled nearly half of it and will no doubt go on to store more. Great fun, a great buy, recommend.
