The best computer I've ever had, 18 Mar 2010
This review is from: Apple iMac 21.5 - inch (3.06GHz, 2X2GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, 4670-256MB-GBR) (Electronics)
It is expensive, yep, but definitely worth it. Think about 4 Windows PCs in one (or 2 GNU/Linux that work without nights of terminal input and setup).
Hyper-fast booting, very responsive even while working with big images/videos and having tons of tabs or apps open, nice screen resolution (1920x1080), enough to work comfortably in Photoshop and other design software.
I got the 21.5 inches because the 27 was way too much for my room (it's more than 60cm wide). The wireless keyboard and magic mouse are incredibly useful and well designed. And it has 4 USB which is enough (keyboard and mouse don't use USB).
The only disadvantage I find is the weight of it, it is quite heavy and hard to carry from one place to another (shouldn't be often so that's fine).
Oh, and that the magic mouse hasn't got middle click (I've heard you can emulate it somehow). I also wonder how long will the keyboard and mouse batteries last, it's a pain to keep changing them every now and then.
I'm in love again!

Operating System V imac unit, 22 Dec 2009
This review is from: Apple iMac 21.5 - inch (3.06GHz, 2X2GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, 4670-256MB-GBR) (Electronics)
When you purchase this product you are getting two unique products, one is the snow leopard 10.6 operating system which is in competition to Microsoft Vista/7 and also a a well made unit that includes a wireless keyboard and wireless apple magic mouse.
The 10.6 Snow Leopard is ready to use within about 30 seconds of pushing the on button which is much faster than Vista cant comment on windows 7 as i have never used it yet.
It has a LED backlit screen which has better resolution than anything i have ever owned even my 37" HD Tv, the wifi picked up more signals to connect to than i thought could have been in the vicinity, and worked second time, which was much faster than vista.
It has a Dvd and sd card slots, you should not need more than the 4gb of RAM that comes with this machine.
It is a strange product that is placed between a laptop and desktop, with the advantages of both just not the portability of a laptop it just works straight out of the box without you having to be a techno-computer-junkie.
Slight gripes you cant copy and paste, and browser controls dont have enough options, the only two points that MS windows seem to have the advantage over snow leopard.
I Purchased this from Amazon, it is much cheaper to buy from Amazon at £1159 than the £1199 that apple is charging.

My first Mac, 11 Dec 2009
This review is from: Apple iMac 21.5 - inch (3.06GHz, 2X2GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, 4670-256MB-GBR) (Electronics)
No more having to make a cup of tea or walk the dog while the PC boots.
No more tired old Windows' idiosyncrasies like items missing in the tray.
No more clutter on the computer table.
The iMac is a sincere pleasure to operate, fast, intuitive and beautiful to behold.
Yes, expensive.
Yes, so many of the Windows programs you have collected over the years will no longer work unless you use "Boot Camp" - which I don't want to do anyway as I want to say goodbye to Microsoft altogether.
But honestly, I can't sing this computer's or Mac OS' praises highly enough.
NB I bought the mid-2009 model direct from Amazon.
