The Apple iBook could not be better! It is fast, portable, durable, and extremely useful! It has a 1GHz processor, and will eat through any Macintosh program you give it. Incredibly, it only weighs 4.9 pounds, and is approximately the size and weight of an average textbook, and will fit snugly into a backpack. It is also very strong. The white shell on the outside has the same ingredients found in bullet-proof glass, underneath that is a sturdy but light metal frame, and underneath that the hard drive is mounted in rubber to be impact-proof. The price of this product may seem a high price to pay, but it is quite a low price for such a remarkable product. Perfect for students, teachers, office workers, home, and for just about everybody. Burn discs, import photos, export songs from iTunes to your MP3 player, listen to the radio, create movies, music, and enjoy its 6-hour long lasting battery while watching a DVD on the plane or whatever. If you are considering this product, DEFINITLY BUY IT!

I have owned my ibook for 3 years and it is perfect. There is no problem at all with this kit. For people who have encountered problems with it, this must have been when a few of the ibooks with certain serial numbers were being recalled but a replacement was automatic.
Granted this piece of kit is not for those who design planes :-) but it does all it says. I think it is absolutely perfect!

I bought an ibook 13 months ago which, as of last week, no longer functions. There was a smell of burning and then the screen turned grey. I have been told that it would cost at least £500 to repair it. The service from Apple has been absolutely appalling. In order to have your computer repaired you have to try and book a slot online (nigh on impossible) or turn up at the Apple Store at 10.00 (when there are already at least 30 people in the queue) only to be given a time that is late in the evening.
As Apple do not like to sell their parts to independent repairers it is very difficult to get a local IT person to come and look at or repair your ibook. If you do buy this product, which works very well when it works!, be sure to buy a 2 year guarantee. I know that John Lewis offer this and I will certainly be buying my next computer from them.
