    5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Buy 14 July 2010
    Format:Paperback
I have just finished the course, which took a lot of time. That is not a criticism. It is comprehensive, written in clear, sometimes amusing English and there are a lot of very helpful diagrams and pictures. In the early chapters especially, there are small pictures of every button that needs to be pressed and I found this very helpful as Aperture does have a lot of buttons and menus and head-up displays, scattered all over the screen. A lot of trouble and work has gone into this and it covers in great detail everything that I will ever need. Expensive, but a very professional product and essential if full use is to be made of Aperture 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the answers and more 14 Jun 2010
    Format:Paperback
As a recent Apple convert and CS4 fan I had heard many negative comments about Aperture but felt I should give it a chance. The program is very good and easy to use but I felt it could do more. This book is the best manual I have used and I am astounded by how much I have learnt already. I have just finished lesson five and can't wait to continue, which I will do after writing this review. I must confess to never finding the time to write a review before but this book is worth it.If you enjoy photography and do not have Aperture 3 then buy it and if you have Aperture 3 and not the book buy the book and realise the potential of this great program.

Absolutely brilliant, I simply do not have time to attend a training course but really need to get to grips with Aperture 3. This book and accompanying DVD allows me to do just that in my own time and at my own pace. It is well written/illustrated and I have finally begun learning in a coherent and logical way. After spending many weeks gathering disjointed and sometimes inaccurate information from the internet this is a welcome relief. If you have already paid for Aperture 3 then the small extra price for this book will really help you - worth every penny!

Great product. Well written and easy to follow with lessons to work through. I completed it in about 10 days allowing me to get the most from this great software. I still refer back to it now as I'm working with my own photos. Definitely recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Poor 31 Dec 2010
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Kindle edition is very poor. Through the book you are expected to use examples from a DVD that is supplied with the physical book. Anyone see the problem here? Yep, no DVD with the Kindle edition and it's not even been edited with a link to where you can download the content to follow the training steps. The entire book has just been converted to Kindle format with little or no thought as to how it will actually work as a training book.

2.0 out of 5 stars A good idea with a bad execution 7 Mar 2012
    By MTRR
    Format:Paperback
The DVD content does not match the text. The way the text is structured makes it very frustrating if the lesson contents included in the DVD are not perfect. The remedy suggested by the publisher is complicated. They should get it right the first time around. The same problems exist with the Final Cut X Manual some of the steps in the lessons lack more precise indications
