From looking at the reviews I was a bit unsure about getting MobileMe, but after recently getting myself a iPhone 3gs and being a macbook pro user I decided I wanted to have everything in sync so I went for it.
In the small box you get your code to start your account straight away, and your live in seconds.
I think people who have had problems with data being erased should look into the settings a bit more as you can decide if data is replaced/updated etc. and you can have alerts to ask your permission if something will change a certain % of your data (useful if you accidentally delete a load of data for example).
I am very impressed with how fast everything syncs, taking no more than a few seconds, and having the email go straight to my iPhone is great.
The iDisk I found is very fast and reliable and although people have complained about the reliability of the iDisk, I think apple has now sorted it all out. Please note, the 20GB of storage is split into 10GB for iDisk, and 10GB for your email, but you can upgrade storage at additional cost.
The new 'Find my iPhone' feature is great, and I tested it the otherday to see how long it would take and only took a few moments, although this is a great feature I hope I will never have to use it!
Overall a great purchase and I would recommend it if you get sick of having to dock, and self sync.

I bought this programme early in 2010 and have wasted hours and hours of my life trying to sort out the problems with the on-line support who seem unable to accept that their software is flawed. I was trying to use it to synch 2 iphones and an ipad. It randomly creates duplicate entries (up to 400 versions of the same entry) which have to be manually deleted. Last time I tried to start from scratch with a new calendar and within 2 weeks mobileme had created 10 identical duplicate calendars. The support seems good at first -but they constant tell you how to solve each individual issue with no preventative measure and no explanation as to why it keeps happening -problem solved for a short time then it happens all over again.
I have recently switched to a Google calendar which I synch all my devices to using a great little app called Calengoo - much cheaper, and if all you want is the mobileme calendar function then I recommend using this instead.

I've been using this service for around 3 months now and have to say I'm very pleased. Apple have recently improved the service a lot so I've only ever had 1 sync error which was with the calendar and solved simply by waiting a few hours then syncing manually.
I love that my address book, notes and calendar details are synced wirelessly and I can add or change any of these on any of my devices and see the change everywhere else almost instantly. The iDisk is also very useful, especially for iPad users as in Pages, Keynote or Numbers for iPad you can open documents directly from the iDisk and then save them back when you've finished editing.

If you know what mobileme is then it seems to be cheaper here than from apple. If your place of work has the appropriate web browser - FF, safari or IE8 then this lets you sync... Read more

MobileMe is a great tool for any mac user. The email service is excellent, as are the photo sharing capabilities. The only thing that leaves a little to be desired is the iDisk. Read more
