Airport Extreme card. It's a Doddle,

Fitted easily. Driver software already on my G5, so no need to install from supplied CD.Communicates well with my BT Voyager 2091, though the acid test will be when I run my Mac from the garden shed whilst the router/modem remains in the house (about 90ft distance). All in all, very happy so far. Also, thought it best to install an actual Mac product in my Mac rather than taking a perceived bigger chance buying a third party card.

My airport card arrived the day after I ordered it from 'airportcardsales', and the seller included a card with a helpline if I needed it....no probs installing it into a G4 iMAC either!

It seems inevitable that today's cutting edge technology is tomorrow's redundant item. Nevertheless with today's Apple laptops fetching the price of a small second hand family car it makes sense to scape the barrel of yesterday's technology as far as possible before moving on. The PowerPC G4 processor on the old iMac PowerMac 6 may be long in the tooth but with the Apple Extreme Card still available, albeit at a price which reflects its scarcity, it still makes financial sense to install the Apple Extreme Card to bring greater wirelessness to your living room at a fraction of the cost of a new hardware purchase. The Card does what it's meant to. Apart from the effort involved in finding out how one actually installs it into the iMac (yes, there is always a catch) and gets it to work (a matter of minutes for someone in the know), it's trouble free.
