The Best Keyboard of ALL TIME 27 April 2012
By Chris Kitze - Published on Amazon.com

As an technology industry pro for almost 30 years, I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly on the keyboard front. Quite simply, this is the best keyboard ever made. In fact, the last one, I wore out those little nubs on the J and F keys, so I just replaced my old one that looked like something was living inside with this identical unit. This time, I bought two, so I have a spare in another five years when this new replacement wears down. The old keyboard still works fine, except for the wear on the key tops, which you'd expect after five years of 14 hour a day use. I'll put that one in my EMP trash can as my emergency spare, since there's absolutely nothing wrong with it except for wear on the keycaps. It will survive nuclear war and massive solar flares as my spare... ;-)

It functions flawlessly, has just the right amount of key play and it's a perfect fit for my hands. Not much else I can add. Go buy one now before Apple decides to quit making them.

Mac keyboard 19 Feb. 2011

Although I like the new aluminum key board shipped with the Mac, its too small. I have chubby fingers and I find that the larger keys and the size of this key board allows me to type with fewer errors. I like to hear the sounds as I type. It works for me!

The best Apple keyboard. Ever. 19 Dec. 2011
By Ciaran - Published on Amazon.com

Before I even start reviewing, allow me to express how disappointed I am in people who use the "review" section for reviewing sellers. That is what SELLER FEEDBACK is for, and because of their lack of attention to detail an incredible keyboard is getting a low star rating. Rant over.

Now, I know this keyboard is starting to get old. Since this was in its hay day, Apple has obviously come out with the aluminum keyboard to complete the iMac/Macbook Pro aesthetic, and there's no denying that they have designed a beautiful keyboard. That said, this keyboard is by no means ugly, and I would argue that it still looks better than any brand-new Dell keyboard...but aesthetics is always subjective.

Now, the reason why I say this is the best Apple keyboard ever, is entirely down to the way I can type on this keyboard. The tactile feedback, as well as the spacing and shape of the keys, make this the ideal keyboard for a fast typer. On my macbook pro (which has the flat keyboard like the new external keyboards) I type around 76WPM (words per minute). On the white Pro keyboard, my WPM is easily 85-90. Sure I sound like a jackhammer due to my being a less than light with my typing, but I work from home so it's not like I am annoying anyone (ok maybe my dog...)

The two USB ports on the side are ideal for a mouse and a USB drive, and are a testament to Apple's desire to completely satisfy an end-user's needs. It is important to note, however, that the USB port is only powerful enough for the aforementioned devices. You cannot sync an iPhone, for example, because it wants to draw a charge and your OS will alert you that the port is overloaded. For devices that are self-powered though, the USB ports are very handy! The number pad may seem archaic, especially in the laptop era, however it is indispensable for anyone using Final Cut or Photoshop as I am. Using an application such as BetterTouchTool, you can easily set the keypad as "shortcut central" if you have no use of the original functions.

I own two of these keyboards, one that I bought used on Amazon and one that I took brand-new out of the box. Both have lasted multiple years of daily use, with one even being thrown into a bag whenever I go back and forth to the office, these are built incredibly well, and will last year 4-5 years, easily. There are video tutorials on taking them apart and cleaning them - it's not difficult and will be necessary a couple of times a year.

- High WPM on this keyboard
- Design is classic Apple and beautiful
- Tactile Feedback is unmatched
- USB ports are SO useful!

Overall? Buy this keyboard if typing is important to you. The newer keyboards are beautiful, but the flat design and thin keys make touch typing a pain in the rear. Highly recommended!

Love this keybaord 11 April 2012

I am an apple product love. I've had many of their products and never been dissatisfied with any of them. For the newer iMac they come with these sleek little keyboards that I can say I hate. I've been looking for these older G3 type keyboard for awhile on craigslist.com and haven't been able to find them. Until I decided to give it a go on amazon, and boom!! There it is.

I love this keyboard and I try to use if on both my iMac and my Mac book Pro.

apple corded keyboard.... 22 Nov. 2012
By Sharon - Published on Amazon.com

i don't usually write reviews, but decided this was one review i needed to write. i ordered this keyboard after reading all the reviews here. like noted by someone else....cord is a little bit short about 2 ft in length, but i picked up a 3 ft usb extension cable from my local radio shack to use with my desk set up. it worked out really well.

as for the keyboard itself...like others say...it is fantastic. it's well built with all the functions a mac needs. i just bought the new updated mini mac first week of nov 2012 with the os x mountain lion software . i plugged in the keyboard and it worked immediately with no problems, so as it states, it is compatible with the newer mac systems.

typing on this keyboard is quite effortless. it has a separate set of numbers on the right side of the keyboard. also there is a lighted caps key that can be seen easily, so you know when you are in caps. it is a full size keyboard.

so far i am very happy with my purchase....i'm glad i read all the reviews on it and decided to order it.
