Apple Volume 2 is a compilation of paintings and comics from 40 top Korean illustrators. Coming from different background, the artistic style and medium featured are extremely diverse.

There are plenty of single page splashes and character design portraits between the multiple short story comics. While some stories are great, some just makes no sense to me. Sometimes, I never can quite get the Korean/Japanese stories they are trying to tell.

Also, some stories come with a "to be continued" but I found out that some stories from Volume 1 are not continued in this volume.

Treat this book more like an art book rather than a graphic novel and you won't be disappointed. Even the comic panels are lavishly painted.

I have both apple volumes 1 and 2, and they are both equally stunning art books. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be strictly a comic/ graphic novel compilation, I think as the previous reviewer suggests they are more art books and it would be better to treat them that way, I agree.

I think when the artwork is so exquisite that they, the images, are the story. There is something very visceral and mystical about asian art work, and so I would so enjoy these books for the artwork, the stories are sometimes a little strange to western tastes, but as a fan of asian cinema, anime, manga and Korean films, these 'strange' stories are fairly typical and reflective of a very thoughtful and philosophical culture.

Beautiful art work, if you are a visually led person, or if you like great artwork, or if you want to take a chance on something different with your comic collection, this is something quite unique, special and rare.
