Product Description

If anything feels like a definitive title it is this one, a project which enabled John O’Loughlin to draw the various strands of his philosophy together and enunciate his worldview with such a logical consistency and comprehensive exactitude ... that he felt as though nothing significant had been overlooked, and there was even room for one or two long-standing grudges and resentments to be aired in the interests of enhanced credibility. This, to us, is akin to a Seventh Heaven; for it is actually the seventh text in the series of similarly-structured aphoristic works stemming from Ethnic Universality (2002), the titular independence of all of which is designed to maintain a sense of and commitment to individualism in the wake of the rather more closely-collectivized texts which came to a head with the four parts of Total Truth (2002). What has come to a head here, however, is a sense of freedom which owes more to theocracy than to democracy but could not materialize, in any ultimate form, without the assistance of democracy. That, in itself, is not new to Mr O’Loughlin’s work, but the way it has been described and the extent to which he has exposed the penalties of not embracing psychic freedom more absolutely is really quite something else, not least in respect of the covert subversion of male virtues by female moralities in sensibility which is the price to be paid in the absence of a more complete freedom. – A Centretruths editorial.

If anything seems like a definitive text it must surely be this one, although it is by no means the last of John O'Loughlin's aphoristic philosophy projects having a transcendental and preponderantly metaphysical bias. Nonetheless it lives up to its name, in that it takes 'the word' to new levels of godly or metaphysical insight which only this author, it seems, can consistently achieve and even, in subsequent works, surpass. What emerges here, in 'Apotheosis of the Gnosis', is a sense of freedom which owes more to theocracy than to democracy but, being Social Theocratic, could not have materialized, or indeed materialize in the future, without the assistance of democracy, which is regarded as a springboard to this ultimate sense of freedom centred not in soma but in psyche, not in the body but in the mind, not in female-hegemonic values but in a uniquely male-oriented new order.

APOTHEOSIS OF THE GNOSIS fairly lives up to its name or, rather, title in terms of the extent to which it both draws the various strands of the ideological philosophy of Social Transcendentalism together and achieves fresh insights into key positions that take this philosophy to new heights of metaphysical understanding and certitude.
