I know a bread bin is just a bread bin - but i do love this one - although a little stiff to being with moving the lid, it soon loosens up the more you use it and it holds more than you think - very happy with this and would recommend.
I like the golden colour and shape that is well represented by the picture and for the price it is good value (£16.49 when I bought it inclusive of delivery).
The roll top is fine and works as expected although the flat part on the top is not that big (width 11cm) so you can only put small containers / items on it as otherwise the handle stops the lid opening fully.
It is not that well made. It does not sit flat on the work surface and can be rocked back and forth rather like a table that has one leg shorter than the other. There are also 2 small white marks on the top that are probably residue from the manufacturing process but can't be removed as they are embedded in the material. It is not worth returning for an exchange however, to see if I get a better one, as these problems are solved by a small wedge under one corner and coverage by containers on the top!
Overall it's OK. I suppose that you get what you pay for with this type of product?
This fell apart when it was delivered. It is held together with small tacks and I thought I could knock it back together. Unfortunately it fell apart again shortly after and is now held together with larger tacks that I had to put it.
There is also a gap between the roll top and the top of the bread bin of approx 1inch. This bread bin is not going to keep the flies out in the summer
This breadbin is just not big enough for one standard loaf of bread. Even the 400 gms loaf have to be pushed in hard to fit. If you can compromise with the small size, then its ok. The quality is good otherwise.
I would have given higher star rating for this product. But and unfortunatly HERMES! the couriers Threw the bin over the garden fence Causing slight damage to the bin(as it is in a cupboard and cannot be seen i have not returned the item) This is the second time HERMES! HAVE DELIVERED ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN DLIVERED DAMAGED! A 100 % RECORD. Company's beware of using this courier as it appears they do not consider the puchaser when deliverig items to them. Bread bin functions properly and perhaps is a sign of how well it has been manufactured as considering what it has been through!
