Product Description

Product Description

"I begin, knowing that what I write may never be read...that law and the possibility of scandal may erase forever my name and account for fear of threatening what society deems decent. In matters sexual I am aware only of truth, though because this truth of which I write cannot clearly be expressed in 'the language of a lady', I know my story may be more than public morals can bear. So be it." -- From the memoirs of Susanna, Lady F Kidnapped and shipwrecked on a tropic isle, the Lady Susanna finds that paradise comes complete with the willing and most intimate worship of the natives, who appoint her as their goddess of love and fertility. When the island paradise is invaded by devils in the form of a priestly slave-trader and his crew, Susanna is forced to protect the people who consider her their goddess, rather than to succumb to the evil brought by her own countrymen.

From the Publisher

"Is this fiction?" asks the writer of one of this book's 5-star Amazon.com reviews. "The way the story is told, in that lovely 'bygone English'--it makes it all seem so very believable and real...170 pages of delicious eroticism: kinky and straight but always beautifully handled. Susanna is sweet, Susanna is insatiable. Sinful (and beautiful) writing Mr./Ms. Raiment."

Frankly, this book would be well worth buying for the cover picture alone. Stunning and ethereally beautiful. I didn't think the book could live up to it, but it manages delightfully.

Plot summary: Lady Susanna has to join her husband in the tropics, leaving the pleasures of London behind. She is dreading it, but on the way there, the boat is shipwrecked, and she manages to make it to an island (how she does it is brilliant, but you'll have to read the book to find out!) The natives of the island view her as a goddess, and she has to quickly adjust to their culture and their strange customs. All of these seem to be sexual in some way... how terrible *smile*. No problem for this very capable and resourceful female, who eagerly throws off the sexual shackles of restrained Victorian England.

Some very amusing and well-delivered twists, with beautifully written yet still erotic kinky frolics. A lot of thought and effort must have gone into it, and it packs in a lot for only 170-odd pages. It left me at the end wondering if it was really a true story, and I can't give it a greater compliment than that. I highly recommend it!

An overlooked gem 26 Feb 2009
Format:Paperback
This is not 'The Story of O', and does not pretend to be. Whips, chains, and women somehow proving their value to their lovers by suffering abuse at the hands of others are not to be found here.

'Aphrodite Overboard' is a book you can safely read if you've never read erotic fiction before, because it is gentle, funny, loving and hugely respectful of women. It's a book to buy if you've ever been tempted to read erotica but have not dared. It is an acknowledged jewel of a book and one I am proud to have written.

Beyond Expectation 7 July 2006
By Aspire Behr - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I can't say enough good things about this novel. As I read I was transported back in time by both the story content and Raiment's style of writing. The vocabulary he uses as well as the style of punctuation and grammar serve to hold the reader in the Victorian era. It is a wonderful story with some very interesting twists and you are left to wonder, even hope, that it actually is a true account of one woman's great life adventure.

Beyond the story itself, you also sense the author's strong feelings regarding the make up of today's society, the unwritten rules of our culture that often limit us as human beings. He offers up an idyllic alternative to tease your imagination.

In my opinion this novel is destined to become the "Fanny Hill" or "Lady Chatterley's Lover" of our time. A book not to be passed over.

Aphrodite Overboard 10 July 2006

Is this fiction? The way the story is told, in that lovely "bygone English" - it makes it all seem so very believable and real.

"Erotic" appears in the subtitle and erotic this novel is! Sex in all its lovely forms. Heats the blood and gets it headed to all the right places ......... it did for me. 170 pages of delicious eroticism: kinky and straight but always beautifully handled. Susanna is sweet, Susanna is insatiable. Sinful (and beautiful) writing Mr./Ms. Raiment.

P.S. Are drawings available for that chair? Nobody's 'playroom' should be without one!
A little gem 10 April 2010
By Trebaci - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this as a gift for a lady friend who had never read erotica before, and she loved it. If the Story of O is your thing, if you find the pain and humiliation of others a turn-on, then Aphrodite Overboard is NOT for you. If you'd like to imagine love and sex in a tropical paradise where the prejudices of the 'civilized' world are unknown, then this is, indeed, a little gem.
