Product Description
The Apex Researcher is a laboratory microscope for the serious scientist and those that like to use good equipment. A very robust design with a binocular head with two pairs of widefield eyepieces, x10 and x15. There are four objectives giving a magnification range of x40 to x1500. The best in its class, it also comes with a FREE starters pack of slides and coverslips.
The microscope has:
- Two eyepieces x10

- The objectives are parfocal
- Mechanical stage with vernier scales
- Separate coarse and fine focus controls
- Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm

I decided to treat myself to a good optical 'scope that was within my price range - and this did the trick! Firstly, it was dispatched very quickly and the packaging was amazing! Polystyrene inside a wooden case. When I set it up and viewed the 'sample' slides/preparations that came with it, I could not believe the clarity of the image! I have used the immersion-oil on the 1000x plus magnification and it works great! I also bought a digital camera attachment with the help of the company; Apex Microscopes [who were most helpful, I would like to add]. From an engineering point-of -view, it is a work of art! All the controls are precision built and really smooth. I would highly recommend this 'scope or any other from Apex to the buyer. It is lab-quality available to the home-user! Cheers all!

A superb quality professional standard compound microscope at about a quarter of the price one would normally expect to pay. Without a doubt the best bargain I've had in years.

Very good quality and excellent magnification. The condenser can be modified by inserting filters of different colours (self made) but unfortunatly cannot be converted to dark ground which makes observing microscopic live specemins (pond life) difficult.

Great for the price.
