About the Author
Lorenzo Carcaterra was born in New York where he still lives. He was a reporter on the New York Daily News
before he wrote his first book of non-fiction, A Safe Place,
which recounts how he discovered, at the age of fourteen, that his father had murdered his first wife. Sleepers,
which became a bestseller on both sides of the Atlantic, tells of the abuse and torture he suffered in a boy's reformatory, and is now a major Propaganda film.
