Well this Helicopter is alright but its better of if you get the 4 channel version. this is okay to fly indoors but you might lose control. it flys well outside with little wind and no obstacles in the way and a big open space. dont expect it to stay in one place it will drift alot but its a much cheaper version and it just cant move forward and back as easy but can turn left and right and go up and down.
Also this is not a toy for little children the blades have a fast speed that it broke my anttena so be carful with it.

I was particularly attracted by the manufacturers blurb in the product description stating that it was "easier and more controlled flight more than ever". This is not the case in my opinion. It is not a very easy thing to learn to fly but I'm sure with practice it will become easier.

I have not yet achieved anywhere near the claimed 8 minutes max flight time. The average has been closer to 4 minutes which can be annoying when you've waited almost 30 minutes between each flight. The performance seriously deteriorates as you approach the end of the flight period too.

I can't comment on how long the AA batteries last as I have only had this 2 days and I'm still using the first set. I am using non rechargeable batteries as the rechargeable I used initially in the handset did not have the oomph to charge the helicopter so it would not fly.

As this is my first foray into the world of RC helicopters I need to clarify I have nothing to compare this toy against. I decided to start at the bottom end of the market (price wise) and overall I am pleased with the helicopter. It is fun when it flies, I just feel it is a good little toy that could have been so much better if you were able to charge from the mains rather than from the battery powered handset and if I was able to achieve closer to the ratio of charge to flight time advertised.

Even so, I would recommend this because of the price and the laughs it causes as it careens around the living room like a demented budgerigar causing everyone to dive for cover....
