Another marvellous story from Carol Ann, she makes you feel like you are part of what is actually happening to the characters. The characters themselves are very different from each other and I think this adds to the richness of this book and the story. Amanda is so brave. Cat Eyes so hateful and sneaky, someone you could cheerfully thump! And then there is Kayto, the man of every red blooded females dreams. Cant wait for Apache Winter.

I do like reading historical romance stories. This one has a wonderful mix of historical correctness along with the romance story that I found very interesting. It conveys a 'nice' romance which could quite feasibly have happened, which is the essence of historical stories. The research details were excellent giving an insite into the Native Indians way of life. I won't give any of it away in this review as this can sometimes ruin reading the actual book, but suffice to say I would recommend its reading.

Enjoyable Read 3 Jun 2008
By Dallas Texas Girl - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I have just finished reading this book and must say I can't wait to read Amanda's sister, Candy and Damon's story. I was looking for some summer reading and liking Historical Romances, this one caught my eye. The authors research on the history of the Chiricahua Apaches was very interesting and made you feel like you were learning their ways of life right along with Amanda. I for one was glad to see that the main couple didn't just fall into being together without really learning of each other first. It took months of the learning and getting to know and respect each other and was very well written. I have added this author to my list of "must reads". I hope there is more of Amanda and Kayto's story in her next book also.

Romance with historical twist 5 May 2008
By rrfred - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is a historical romance about the Chiricahua Tribe of the Apache Indians and a captive white girl's introduction into the 'life-way' of the Apaches. The historical information about the Chiricahua was interesting and seemed to be well researched. The history gave some insight into the 'why' behind tribal customs that were not understood by the Americans of that time period (1860's). Using Cochise as one of the 'larger than life' characters in the book gave some depth to the story line. This is not an academic work on the history of the Apache Indians. It is an enjoyable, relaxing read with a happy, if implausible ending. A sequel or another historical romance from this author would be welcomed.

Historically accurate 29 Oct 2011
By Miranda - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is the story of a Baltimore belle and her sister who travel west after their father dies in the 1860s. Along the way, Amanda Carroll is kidnapped by Apaches and is taken to their hidden stronghold. There she learns about the Apache ways and falls in love with one of their warriors. Anyone who loves the history of the American West will enjoy this book.
