As some may know, Micrsoft has discontinued their MCE IR remotes. So this product is actually a compatible MCE remote. Although it is designed strikingly similar to an official one. There is the same number of buttons as the original, and it does come with the essential IR receiver, which if your PC supports it can be brought out of S3 state standby. In Windows Vista, it is simply plug and play as the remote is picked up straight away without any need for installing additional drivers. At the moment I am using this with XBMC Live and it is perfect for it, because all the button maps are identical to a MCE remote. Therefore it is also a plug and play install for this OS too. It looks to be well made and the supplier was excellent with a quick despatch. All in all, this is the next best thing to getting an official MS MCE remote / ir bundle. Highly recommended.

Superb! Works perfectly. Fits comfortably in the hand, is responsive when buttons are pressed. Comes with an IR USB receiver with about 1m of cable. This remote is not the learning version, so you won't be able to replace say, the TV remote. On Linux, LIRC will work with it with little/no config changes. I highly recommend this for any PVR.

great remote works great with media center and it's got the coloured buttons for fast text which will be handy in future. great service and delivery.

Works with Linux & MythTV
This is an RC6 type IR remote and receiver. I bought it for use with Linux and MythTV and it works a treat. Shame about Windows the logo in the middle though.

Great. Works right out of the box with no installation.
