Susan C says:
I haven't yet read this book, but it intrigues me and I've now added it to my list.

It sounds as though Will Self has been heavily influenced by Russell's Hoban's post-apocalyptic book, "Riddley Walker" - for which he wrote a 25th anniversary edition preface.

I'd be very interested to see if anyone has read both of these books, and to learn their thoughts on the two.

I just finished Ridley Walker and am about to embark on the Book of Dave; I was thinking the exact same thing!
