Grip the rubber handle in the palm of your hand with your fingers through. Hold the blunt edge steady and with the edge facing towards the Anysharp. Run the Anysharp "V" over the edge to be sharpened. You are using the correct pressure if the action is smooth, and you get tiny metal filings coming off the edge. If you get no filings at all, or the motion is jerky or sticky, adjust the pressure to suit. Several passes may be required depending how blunt the edge is to begin with. Remove any loose metal filings from the sharpened edge and coat with a small amount of oil if required, to prevent rusting.
