I do not partiularly need a Freeview TV, but do want to replace my big chunky CRT TV. I have a PVR which incorporates Freeview, and am very pleased with it. Although it works well with my old CRT tv, I am wanting to replace it with an up to date flatscreen one. Does anyone know of any decent flatscreens without Freeview, or if there are any conflicts from having a Freeview TV as well? As far as I can see nearly al new-TV's these days sem to incorporate Freeview.
Yes, the samsung SM932MW for one, which is a 19" screen, it's on amazon for 140 quid. Plenty of discounts around now on LCD tvs without freeview because of the digital switchover starting in Jan 2009. But you won't find any in the high street retailers, you'll have to scour the internet. Like you I have a PVR with freeview that I'm totally happy with and didn't want to waste money on an integrated freeview decoder I'd never use.
Thank you for this information- very belated- (I had to put my search on hold, but now time to sort it out). I have looked and seen Amazon are still selling the model you mention, still same price, sounds good enough for me without breaking the bank! thanks
I am looking for similar but will never buy samsung tv. My advise to you would be do search (eg samsung tv problem). I bought samsung and it was beyond cost effective repair just after the warranty ended.
