I purchased this book as I had been suffering from panic attacks, generalised anxiety and agoraphobia for the past year. It was absolutely soul destroying, as I am sure anyone who suffers from anxiety disorders will know!
I was at the end of my tether and really did not want to start medicating but at the time I could see no other way. This was when I went online and found this book!
I have been working through it for the past 6 weeks and have already noticed a huge decrease in my generalised anxiety.
The great thing about this book is that you do not have to wait until you have finished it to start implementing the suggested techniques.
I also liked the fact that it covers a wide range of factors; origin, breathing, relaxation and meditation, medication, diet, exercise, desensitisation, supplements and coping strategies.
There are no time deadlines which allows you to work through your issues at your own pace.
Reading this book will not cure you of your problems, that has to come from within as I am sure you know! What it does do is give you the tools you need to start getting your life back successfully.
The only fault I found is not with the book itself, it's the translation to Kindle. The book reads absolutely fine, however there are a few worksheets at the back of the book that would have been useful to photocopy so that I could use them and a couple of questionnaires within the book that would have been easier to complete had I been able to write on the page itself. Not huge problems and they certainly haven't hindered my recovery.
Apart from this, I cannot recommend this book enough. It has really helped me.

I purchased this product for a friend who has social anxiety disorder: He started working his way through this and the improvement has been dramatic. It requires dedication and putting it into practice but I think as a book it's one of the better ones out there and has helped him a lot. I'd recommend this to anyone who has problems of this kind.

ok and full of useful info but i think some of the questionnaire parts could be laid out better. one questionnaire on mistaken beliefs has about 60 questions then you have to cross reference a list of question numbers against a associated paragraph. so you end up going backwards and forwards e.g so if i answered to 1 3 7 21 54 19 its x but if it was 4 22 48 45 39 its y.
by this time the questions seem like a set of numbers. why not group the questions directly by the 5 or so paragraphs?
seems obvious to me. so if you like lots of looking backwards and forwards and can remember many questions by its number this is the book for you i actually don't think the book needs to be this long. perhaps condense it a bit.

This book is very good - it is set up so that people with a wide variety of anxiety related issues can work through the book by doing the exercises, filling in sections, etc. It is very well written, well set out and written with great respect to the reader.
My only fault I can pick up with this book is the size of it, the pure volume if information contained within the book is slightly overwhelming and I couldn't face looking through it when my Panic Disorder was at it's peak. Now that I am slightly more stable I have found it invaluable as a tool to recovery. Recommended.

Because it's a "workbook" rather than just a book you will find you want to do the exercises and will pay more attention to your issues. Cheaper than paying for counselling and hypnotherapy. Work your way through the book and your anxiety will decrease. I've successfully used it for driving phobia and passed within four months. Still have some fear but revisiting the book helps. Obviously it won't simply replace professional help but gives you a really good understanding of why you feel like you do.

One of the most comprehensive easy to follow books on the subject I have read.I would recommend it to anyone suffering from Anxiety disorders for its insightful and hopeful message.The excercises I believe work,and give a great understanding on what can be a complex area.

This book is fantastic it's filled with all the info you need to know, if you need help with anxiety ect it's the book for you it has helped me gain more confidence and hopefully I am leading to full recovery overtime. I hope it helps you too x
