To be honest, what first sold me on this as a rucksack / trolley was the fact that it had an in-built wet section, as that, to me, said that it was designed to be used as a travel bag rather than being more a wheeled laptop bag for commuters. (Although it would still fit a laptop).

The second thing that sold me on it was the fact that the double-zipped front 'D'-pocket is designed to be accessed more as you would a 'normal' suitcase - from the top (when the case is lain on its back) - rather than from the top as it stands upright as would be usual for a rucksack (and which would therefore necessitate getting everything out if you wanted to get at the things you had put at the bottom!) It also has two large pockets on the side (although, if you don't carry around an umbrella or a water bottle then they might be a little inconveniently shaped for nick-nacks as smaller things would fall out when you unzipped it!) and a little front pocket for putting in anything you need handy (although, obviously, for safety it is best not to put your Passport in the front pocket!)

The handle near the retractable trolley handle and the plastic one on the base (the 'grab handle footstud') give this suitcase convenient hand-holds for lifting it up onto a bed or table to pack / unpack - and just generally make it an easy bag to move around - even though it was bigger than I had imagined it to be. (Although, at 51 x 36 x 19 cm, it apparently still meets the hand luggage requirements for most airlines - although obviously that is something to always check beforehand!

We bought this for a long-haul trip to the Middle East with 3 kids (6, 4 and 1). It is light and roomy. The large middle section is big enough to put spare clothes in and there are loads of pockets so tickets, toys, books, snacks etc can be accessed easily.

I had an earlier beige version of this (purchased about 4 years before at John Lewis) and it only lacked a good sized pouch on the top and a front pouch for passport/easy access documents. It was an excellent quality product but eventually broke the anchorage bracket at the bottom of the pull handle and that was because too many people want to lift the rucksack using the pull handle!

So when I saw the new version I went for it and its a good quality product, bigger and better outside pockets on the front. I like the additional sleeve inside for my laptop but time has past as I long ago purchased a good cheap Duronic soft sleeve.
What I find really disappointing is that the side pockets have been made smaller (too small like postage stamps) and are thus really quite useless. I travel abroad a lot and normally put a camera, medicine, phone charger, tooth paste/brush, a bottle of water and occasional packet of crisps etc in the side pouches, so they are extremely important but some clown at Antler design department decided to make these useful practical pockets really useless. Why I dont know because it makes no real difference to the manufacturing cost.
The pull handle is now closed in with a zip. Looks POSH but an extra faff and not required, also adds to cost. The tee handle is good ergonomically but spoiled by the rough sharp part that connects to the metal shaft. I used a Stanley knife to remove the sharp bits of plastic.
So what a shame that nobody really though about the practical aspects when designing this rucksack.
Simple good design costs nothing extra.

Not long purchased this and am very impressed with the quality. It's sturdy, capacious, relatively light and am sure will prove very reliable for years to come. However I have one minor problem with it. The internal housing for the handle is insufficiently padded and it presses against my spine when I wear it. It isn't a problem but I think if worn for a while with a decent load inside it might become so. The shoulder straps and the corresponding patches on the bag behind them are very well padded but the area between isn't. Apart from that it's a first-rate buy.

I went for a more flexible carry-on for long and short trips. I also wanted the wheel option. I had never had Antler before, but was attracted by the price. Well I love the storage flexibility and large capacity. It is also a great overnight bag and great for bringing back gifts from long haul trips. Top bag, still going strong after multiple trips to Asia.

Absolutely fantastic bag. Perfect for short trips and as carry on luggage. It is surprisingly compact despite its sizeable capacity. Sturdy and well made as to be expected from Antler. Well thought out pockets which are usefully sized. I have used this as carry on luggage on long haul trips with two young children and it is large enough for spare changes of clothes, snacks, toys and other sundries needed for the flight. I've also used it for long weekends for myself and again, it performs well in terms of space required. The backpack straps are very useful for when you need to go "hands free" and they store away easily and tidily. The pull out handle also stores away very unobtrusively. A great bag.
