3.0 out of 5 stars Antique Insight Globe 28 Dec 2009
By Freddy
I bought this for my son (7 years), but it was so tiny when it arrived that I returned it. It is an attractive little globe, but the size of it makes it extremely difficult to read. I eventually bought a perfect globe for his age group from the Early Learning Centre, which was more expensive but exactly right for his age.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice little globe 3 Mar 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase
Considering the price I was pleasantly surprised by this nice little globe. It is of a decent quality, more adult than toy. Because of its size (approx 100mm diameter) the main drawback is the lack of room for placenames, especially in small overcrowded areas like Europe. If you want to know where things are in Europe this is not for you. However if you were reading about exploration voyages of years gone by or even of the Royal navy hunting down enemy ships across the world's oceans this globe would be handy to give you a better perspective than any flat map.
Would sit well on any childs bedside table or computer workstation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awfully small 3 Jun 2011

If you want a toy, then it's good, if you want it for educational or ornamental reasons, then think again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Small Globe
Nice neutral colour. Good size, so doesn't take over the room. Some of the place names are quite small. Have to have good eyesight. Bought as a fun present for a traveller!

This is very cute and great value. If only the stand was metal and not plastic it would be perfect. But looks great on the mantelpiece
