Product Description

Product Description

Formed in Stourbridge in West Midlands in November 1987 Ned's Atomic Dustbin took their name from an episode of The Goon Show. The band were unusual for using two bass players in their lineup: Alex Griffin played melody lines high up on one bass, and Mat Cheslin played the regular bass lines on the other. This gave the band a tense and highly driven sub-hardcore sound featuring distorted effects-laden guitar and energetic drums. This anthology consisting of tunes from across their career also features the Video Nothing is Cool which is the first time it has appeared on DVD and has been a major request from fans of the band. The set features sleeve notes by Malcolm Dome who has interviewed lead singer Jonn Penny to give an insight into the band and their career.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Anthology CD + DVD 2 Mar 2013
By Da'Newt
Superb! Great to have all the early Chapter 22 EPs again. Terminally Groovy is a forgotten gem that takes me right back to 1990!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classics 19 Feb 2013

Great selection of songs throughout their career. Worth it for the DVD 'nothing is cool' on its own, which is the only way you can get it, unless you want it on VHS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Ned's 13 Jun 2013

Good collection of classic Ned's tracks, although they loaded up on too many tracks from Bite, IMO. The second disc is a DVD version of their classic video, Nothing Is Cool, from the early 90's. Although I still have my VHS version, this was a total trip to watch after many years! Long overdue on DVD! It's not remastered and the quality is no better than the original, but in a way it kinda adds to the experience. Ned's is my all-time favorite band and I hope I get to see them live before I die. I've never heard a sound like NAD. They walk a line between melodic and heavy like no one else can. It's a musical frenzy. Hoping to hear some new tracks soon, guys! So if you're listening, hook us up! Ned-head for life.
