4.0 out of 5 stars Music = 5 Stars but the set has issues 11 Feb 2014

Love the music. Already owned Coming Down and Foolish Thing Desire (remastered release on Psychobaby) before buying the anthology for the third disc of b-sides etc.

There are three issues with the set.

1) The first song on Foolish Thing Desire - Here She Comes is actually the Wobble Mix version, it is not the original mix, which is listed as track 11. The original mix was switched with it and is actually track 11 on the disc.

2) The remastering falls into the too hot and too compressed loudness war category, with the top shaved off too much and the bass pushed up too much. The previous remaster of Foolish Thing Desire is a much more balanced and spot on take on the album. I have done an A/B comparison on various songs and the Psychobaby version wins hands down. It's much more lush.

3) This is the least of the issues and isn't that big a deal but the liner notes I don't feel are well written at all.

Daniel Ash. Solo material. Comprehensive booklet. There is no way this could possibly go wrong. A must-have for every fan.
5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! 2 Feb 2014

Bauhaus, Tones on Tail and Love & Rockets. I love it all, but there is something so very unique about the precise atmosphere of Daniel Ash's style. His music is ahead of these times.
